Leaseplan's Women's Arctic Challenge
The amazing group of women from Leaseplan completed their journey; here is the whole story captured in a 10 minute film.
Currently I am training a team of 15 women from LeasePlan UK who are taking on the challenge of their lives. They will be undertaking a 100km ski-trek of Baffin Island in the Arctic Circle in temperatures averaging -15 degrees. The 18-day trip will be led by professional adventurer and gender equality advocate, Debra Searle MVO MBE.
Their physical training has involved a variety of Nordic Walking, Roller-Skiing, Circuit Training, 1:1 PT Sessions, Nutritional Analysis and a huge amount of long walks with backpacks, waist harnesses and heavy tyres dragging behind them!
We have done campcraft both outside and in an industrial freezer at -24 degrees and even used cross country ski machines at -24 degrees to practise moisture management in cold temperatures!
They have also been doing NLP and MBTI to support them getting to know each other and understand each other's personality types and how they are likely to respond in stressful situations.
They are blogging about their challenge and you can read about it here.
